Artists
Hedflux
Hedflux is the brain child of DJ / Producer Steve Young.
Since exploding onto the scene with his seminal début track “Music Is My Weapon”, Hedflux has firmly established a fresh and distinctive flavour of cerebral tech-funk. Drawing on energy from breaks, techno and psychedelic styles, the result is a fusion of deep driving bass grooves, thumping drops and intricate neon synth-play.
His titles on Sinister, Breakin Even and Broken Robot Records have received widespread support from breaks, electro and psychedelic DJs alike, and enjoyed Top 10 spots on all the major download sites. With gigs at Glade, Waveform and iBreaks festivals, and the Official Shpongle Afterparty in 2009, plus a guest mix on Annie Nightingale’s show on BBC Radio 1, the Hedflux sound is increasingly being felt at high profile events in the UK and beyond.
Neurodriver
Neurodriver aka Dom Smart has been producing electronic music ever since he laid his hands on a computer. Dom honed his DJing and production skills as one half of UK breaks outfit Far Too Loud, rocking dancefloors all over the world, and producing a number of hit records which helped redefine the breakbeat genre. Fast forward to 2009, when Dom found his musical path diverging from that of FTL, Neurodriver was born.
The Neurodriver project represents a high-tech and uncompromising dancefloor-focused sound which fuses elements of tech-breaks, techno, pychedelia and electo to give a deep new breed of heady funk suited to big rigs and late-night floors. The first Neurodriver tracks touched down on Dom’s own Broken Robot imprint in late 2009, gaining critical acclaim and topping the charts of several dance music stores. 2010 will see more tunes released on Broken Robot, together with some forward-looking psychedelic techno on the seminal Flying Rhino label, and a collaborative track with dub legend Gaudi appearing on his album.
rms and peak
RMS & Peak aka Martyn Harler and Adam Goodlet joined forces in 2008 after playing at a number of gigs under different artist names. Martyn was a die hard Breaks fanatic and Adam had spent years writing hard style and Psy-Trance under the names Ephexis and Atomic Species, so elements of Breaks found themselves fused with elements of Psy, thus the RMS & Peak project was born.
The project has embodied their individual styles to produce a dark, pounding, late night dance-floor sound with psychedelic tech-funk elements. With a successful remix for Ego Shot Recordings in June 2009 and their first E.P release in November 2009. ‘Ten Dimensions’ and ‘New Realm’ was released on ‘Broken Robot Recordings’, the track reached number 9 in the Beatport chart and received great feedback from the dance community.
Martyn and Adam are now working on a remix for Hedflux which is due for release in March / April 2010 on Broken Robot Recordings, they have their next e.p in the making and have a remix of a Neurodriver in the pipeline for summer 2010.
